Description

Now in its fifth year in San Mauro Pascoli, the project will bring creative workshops, sports activities, and social gatherings to parks and public spaces, designed to offer young people healthy, inclusive, and free activities during summer evenings. Street art, screen printing, parkour, percussion, jewelry-making, soccer, and indoor soccer tournaments will be among the activities featured on the June and July schedule. The activities will take place in the late afternoon and evening and will be led by experts, local artists, and educators.

Summer Seekers was created with the goal of introducing young people to new forms of expression and movement, fostering social interaction, building connections among peers, and rediscovering public spaces as lively, safe, and welcoming places.

The project is fully aligned with the youth policies of the participating communities: it goes beyond mere summer activities to encompass educational work centered on presence, active listening, and relationship-building. Street-based education is, in fact, a valuable tool for combating social isolation, marginalization, and forms of social decay, by creating concrete opportunities for participation, integration, and community building.

The Pope John XXIII Community, through its prevention division, has been carrying out educational work alongside young people for years, with a particular focus on promoting well-being, preventing distress, and building positive relationships in the places where young people live their daily lives.
