The village
San Mauro Pascoli is a charming town in the Emilia-Romagna region of northern Italy, located roughly 35 km southeast of Forlì and about 7 km from the Adriatic coast.
Originally known as San Mauro di Romagna, the town was renamed in 1932 in honour of its most famous native, the poet Giovanni Pascoli, whose childhood home is now a museum celebrating his life and work. The historic centre combines tradition with culture, where eighteenth-century buildings, intimate squares and museums narrate a rich local story.
San Mauro Pascoli is also known for its high-end footwear heritage — part of an area renowned in Italy for excellence in fashion shoemaking and design. Whether you’re wandering cobbled streets, visiting literary landmarks or enjoying the surrounding countryside, the town offers a peaceful and authentic taste of Romagna life.
